Just like any other year 2014 too was rocked by three khans, here is the ranking of the bollywood actors in terms of their box office performance as well as their contribution in the box office success of their movies.
The actors who rocked in 2014
1.Aamir Khan- On no 1 position it is the perfectionist Khan, Aamir Khan. He was the first actor whose film has entered in 100cr club and 200cr club and now he broke his own record and give the first ever movie to enter in the 300cr club which is "PK". It took only 17 days to do that. This movie has already earned more than 300cr and still running well in the theaters. It has already surpassed the box office collection record of "Dhoom 3" and has became the all time blockbuster. Apart from "PK", Aamir was also in limelight for his successful TV show "Satyamev Jayate" with his two successful seasons this year.
2.Salman Khan - In 2013 Salman had no release but in 2014 he has two releases. His first release was "Jai Ho" which was quite disappointing as per the expectations of Salman Khan but even a Salman Khan flop also earns more than 100cr at the box-office. Salman's next release was "Kick" which came on the auspicious occasion of Eid. With "Kick" Salman came back with a power punch and gave his first 200cr hit. Apart from his movies Salman was also in news for his hit TV show "Big Boss" during the last quarter of 2014.
3. Shahrukh Khan - Shahrukh Khan made a very late entry in 2014 with his only Diwali release "Happy New Year". This movie made the record of highest opening day collection with around 42cr. and its total indian gross income was more than 200cr. Though it could not break the records of King khan's last year release "Chennai Express" but still it was a big hit. Apart from this Shahrukh was in news for 1000 weeks completion of 1995 classic
"Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge".
4. Hrithik Roshan - Hrithik had only one release this year which was "Bang Bang" , this movie was not a favorite with the critics but it made a big collection at the ticket windows due to its highly created pre-release buzz. Once again Hrithik impressed us with his well chiseled body and superb dancing skills. To promote this film Hrithik had taken an innovative initiative by giving his friends from film industry a BangBang Dare challenge.
This movie made around 180 cr at the box office.
5. Arjun Kapoor - This rising star has three release this year and all three were successful. First one was "Gunday" where we found him in a bit grey shade. Then came "2 States" his first 100cr hit where he played a cool MBA pass out lover boy and then came "Finding Fanny" where he played another romantic role and made his presence felt in a cast comprising half a dozen veteran actors. Not only box office collection wise but also Arjun proved himself as an actor too by choosing different range of characters and performing them well too.
6. Ajay Devgan - Ajay Devgan once agin return as Bajirao Singham in the independence release "Singham Returns" and it became the highest grossed film of his career with around 140cr box office collection. His fans loved him in this movie. But unfortunately his second film this year "Action Jackson" was a disappointment. Ajay Devgan tries to do something totally out his trademark style but it did not work for him his action was still good but his dance and comedy was not up to the mark.
7. Akhsay Kumar- Just like any other year Akhshay has mixed year this time too. Again he had three releases among them the first one was a big hit entered in 100cr club , it was "Holiday". Akhshay Kumar's performance as an army officer was very good. Then came a comedy "Entertainment". Here Akhshay was good with his comic timing but people could not relate with story of bonding of a dog and a human so in spite of getting a good start it was just an average at the box office in long run. Still it manage to earn 70cr. Finally Akhshay came in a extended cameo in his own home production "The Shaukeens" which was a remake of old Basu Chatterjee film "Shaukeen". The film did not worked at box office but everyone liked Akshay's hilarious portrayal himself on the big screen where he played a lot of spoof on himself. Apart from this He tried his luck as producer in yet another movie which was "Fugly" with four new comers , this film flopped badly in the box office.
8. Siddhart Malhotra - Karan Johar's discovery Siddharth had two releases this year one was "Hasee To Phasee" where he played sentimental romantic lead with perfection. This film did quite good business as per its budget. Then came his second big hit "Ek Villain". This movie was the biggest hit all the cast member's career including Siddhart. It made entry to 100cr club. Its music was a big hit. With this movie Siddharth shows another side of his acting by playing a local goon.
9. Varun Dhawan - Another Karan Johar discovery Varun Dhawan made his presence felt in Bollywood this year. In 2014 he appeared in two back to back hit comedies one directed by his own father David Dhawan and another one was from Karan Johar's production house. Both "Main Tera Hero" and "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" were big hits and made more than 50cr at the box office. Also these movies proved Varun's comic timing. No doubt Bollywood has got an alternate for Govinda with his unique combination of comedy and dancing skill.
10. Reteish Deshmukh - So far Reteish Deshmukh has a name as a comic actor but this year he took a 360 degree reverse turn and played a negative character in "Ek Villain". His negative performance has been well received by critics and audiences. The movie does a very well at box office. Apart from this we see Riteish Deshmukh in his usual self in comic role in "Humshakals" the movie was a disaster but Retiesh Deshmukh was good with his comic timing. In 2014 Retiesh also made his debut as an action star in Marathi film. His debut Marathi film also became a big hit in regional market.

Saif Ali Khan - Saif had two releases in 2014. First one was "Humshakals" which flopped badly at box office. Saif looked totally out of sync in this mindless comedy. But the bad thing for Saif is even he could not win audiences heart in a tailor made role for him in "Happy Ending". With this movie he also failed as a producer.
Aditya Roy Kapoor - After the big success of "Ashiqui 2" everyone had big hopes from Aditya Roy Kapoor but he appeared in a disastrous film in 2014 which was "Daawat-E-Ishq".
